Homie on the local sub on the DSA candidate:

    >You keep thinking voting matters while the rest of us do the actual work.

    >I don’t have a candidate. Voting is never gonna change shit. Trust me, I do far more than you could possibly comprehend.

    >Get it through your head that just because you aren’t intelligent enough to force change, doesn’t mean the rest of us aren’t.

Canada calls it soccer and loses, Australia calls it soccer and loses, the United States calls it soccer and loses even after bribing FIFA, and England calls it football and wins. Perhaps there might be a winning formula here?

Belgium winning over the US has shown the superiority of a truly multicultural nation over a monoculture.

    >The problem with social media is that everyone posts a curated, perfect version of themselves and their lives, which can lead to self-image problems

This has to be the biggest embarrassment for the US since they lost a major war a few weeks ago

  6. People keep saying “Democrats need to vet candidates better” but I think that’s just kind of cope from people who want some singular entity to blame

Like just think about it realistically here. Is some democratic operative going to chase down every woman a candidate has had relations with and get them to confess if any sexual abuse happened? That’s not really how this works. It comes out during campaigns because women see someone in the public spotlight and they have to work up the courage to come out about it. It’s not realistic for some random political operative to do an audit on the history of a candidates entire sex life.

You could argue Platner’s other red flags/bad things could have been vetted, but not really this one. It doesn’t work that way unless someone very forthright decides to contact you somehow

I feel mildly sorry for the US players because I doubt they had much to do with whatever that shitshow was, but I’m not going to lie, watching Belgium pump them silly and thinking about Trump sobbing over it *was* very satisfying.

At least Mexico went out swinging in an absolute thriller.

Say what you want about Weekend at Mitch’s, but it’s absolutely what he would have wanted.

There is no indignity our boy wouldn’t stoop to for the sake of the GOP. 🐢🐢🐢

Americans were given the choice between defeat and dishonor.

In the end, they chose dishonor and got defeat.

  11. Guarantee that Platner is getting swarmed right now with sweet condolence messages from the right-wing mediasphere.

‘Oh man, you got backstabbed by the people you were fighting to help? Man, that sucks – those things they’re saying about you online are really mean. And all because some girl *alleged* something how long ago? That’s crazy man. Listen if you ever want to clear the air or tell your story, I can book you on my podcast anytime you feel ready.’

Cue Platner ‘why I left the left’ within six months.
