  1. 1. Summary

The Taiwanese online space is filled with online disinformation claiming China meddled in Korean elections and ruling DPP taking advantage of it.

    2. How is this related to sub

    (1) The globalization of far-right: After expressing support for Yoon’s December 3rd insurrection, DPP camp is embracing “election fraud” conspiracy.

    3. My opinion

I have deep distrust of DPP as their language is quite similar to that of Yoon Suk-Yoel and his gang of far-right YouTube conspiracy theory. The fact that there was a meeting between Taiwanese intelligence and the insurrectionists raises more concerns. I fear this party is just rainbow-washing their true color.

One of the things that has disappointed me most recently about parts of the Chinese dissident community and the Taiwanese Hong Kong Milk Tea Alliance twitter, is their persistent tendency to project their own political narratives onto Korean and Japanese politics.

Even today, many continue to insist that the December 2024 coup attempt was an effort to eliminate so-called “Chinese puppet” forces, while portraying the current South Korean government as Beijing’s proxy and branding Japan’s opposition parties as Chinese puppets as well.

I find this endlessly frustrating and exhausting.
