Rivolver on July 7, 2026 6:43 pm SS. Interesting dynamic here. This will trigger a by-election in Quebec in which the CPC, BQ, and LPC effectively won 1/3 of the vote each. Also clearly a patronage appointment *and* the appointment of a sitting Conservative MP. A bit of a throwback to the mid-20th century. And it seems like the independent appointment process is dead. Good riddance (IMO anyway).
