  1. SS: US prosecutors laid charges against Indian gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Satinderjeet Singh, aka Goldy Brar, for ordering the murder of Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The charges came as a result of a massive US-led operation in which 37 were arrested across the US, Canada and Europe for being part of three international crime syndicates. A Canadian RCMP official stated to CBC News that “*There is no evidence to suggest that through this organised crime syndicate investigation and the charges laid forward that Indian government officials would be charged or involved in this….nothing has come out to link the Indian government*”. This comes after former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged the Indian government had a “potential link” to the murder of Nijjar, who was gunned outside a gurudwara in 2023. The Indian government dismissed the allegations, which led to a diplomatic crisis between the two Commonwealth nations until relations cooled following Trudeau’s departure.
