Money needn’t be printed. It can be taxed (unless, I suppose, you’re the Libertarian Party).

Nina Turner is a moron in general but shes right here and the LP is wrong
Poverty is caused by a lack of money
Giving poor people money is an effective solution to poverty
There is no inherent reason why doing so should have to result in inflation

The solution to poverty is money. That is a factually correct statement and plenty of evidence demonstrates that direct cash transfers are actually more economically efficient than many parochial welfare programmes. Only an idiot would assume that this means “let’s print more and more money”; but of course, this absolutely tracks given that it was the Libertarian Party that shared this brain dead comment on what I assume is Twitter.

Giving poor people money is a good policy that reduces the acute affects of poverty and improves the chances of the receiver escaping poverty long term
The problem is the left doesn’t want to give money to poor people so they will be above the poverty line. They want to give money to middle class people so they can be rich

I mean, UBI is good, but not if you print money to provide it to people. They’re kinda both right, in a way

Hyperinflation takes more than money printing. It takes a destabilized government that has lost any credible control over its own money creation. Hyperinflation has only occurred in countries where their governments were going through an institutional collapse, like post WWI Germany and Zimbabwe.

This is why economic growth is important, so that there is more wealth to go around. That’s how countries elevate themselves and how poverty is reduced on a global scale.
