I’ve often thought that dragons were real and they would hunt them by trapping them in caves first, but due to their large reptilian size they’d expel a ton of methane, and when hunters advanced on the caves with their torches lit the compacted methane would blow up in their faces, giving the impression that dragons actually breathed fire.
