Germany debates surrogacy and hypocrisy – Former Health Minister Jens Spahn of the conservative CDU, who opposed legalizing surrogacy in Germany, has become a father with the help of a surrogate mother in the US.

This article addresses several complex topics at once. Surrogacy is not typically a topic that is discussed extensively on r/neoliberal. It also overlaps significantly with LGBTQ rights.

However, it also highlights interesting developments within the European conservative right, where openly LGBTQ individuals are increasingly holding top positions these days.
