This is a photo from the official Adidas advertising campaign for the 2026 World Cup. It was released in October 2025. The campaign brings together World Cup champions from 1994 through 2022, next to the blue chair (Argentina 2022) there is a red chair that could indicate the next winner.
So for me, there are two possible interpretations:
1. Spain wins the final (a theory supported by The Economist cover, implying the red player represents Spain's uniform).
2. Argentina becomes a two-time champion, because TWO flowers appear on the blue chair, suggesting they could represent two cups.
Personally I think interpretation number 2 is more likely, I don't believe they want to make the ritual of passing the torch from Messi to Lamine Yamal too obvious. Besides, it also suits them to keep distracting argentines from the collapse of their currency and the government put the country's land up for open sale to foreigners.

The chair to the left of where I assume Messi would be sitting is red which to me implies that it is Spain but, going back to the two flowers thing could mean this one will be Argentinas followed by Spain in 2030. Or lastly hear me out this may sound insane but what if its just a picture thats not predicting anything, and the favourites in these tournaments are just favourites because theyre really good and most likely to win and advance far into the tournament?

Yes, and the red chair represents the World Cup 2030 which will be hosted by 3 nations whose flags feature red as the main color (Spain, Morroco and Portugal). One of them might win it.
White represents England’s win in 2034.
Yellow represents Brazil’s win in 2038.

here are a lot of teams using red. Portugal, spain, morroco, belgium. But of course based on 2025 ranking: Spain is the highest by quite a margin.
