For your consideration: a national development plan for America

I wrote this as a partisan document aimed at Democrats to use and exploit as both an electoral and policy blueprint, but I'm told this sub might also find it of interest.

In sum: it's the how-to actualize the Abundance agenda in a 2029-2034 timeline, complete with military industrial spending, how it can be financed, and the institutional infrastructure America will need (things the original Abundance could have focused more on tbh). It's also intended to be politically robust enough to actually happen (idk if any Republicans will ever vote for this but this is something I could see both AOC and a Congresswoman / Senator Slotkin supporting), and capable of standing up to America's rigid constitutional constraints.

Obviously, I am no arbiter of ultimate truth and the targets I provided (e.g. a ratio of 1.5 hulls built for every 1 the PRC PLAN builds by 2034) comes from a complex confluence of factors (the naval arms races the UK waged in the 19th and 20th centuries and how they also used ship ratios, our lack of ships compared to the PRC PLAN, and how a 3:1 ratio when waging any type of war is ideal but 1.5:1 is preferable economically in peacetime) that could more less be shortened to "personal gut feeling".

To be clear: I want the hard digits to be fought and bloodied over; my goal, if I have any, is to ensure America's decline does not become a century-long humiliation. If my ideas spark one neuron that reaches one policymaker that leads to better policies, I'll be happy.

And yes, I think we can really bounce back as a country, moreso than the doomers say (capitalism is very early stage I would say, not late!). And I also think we ought to bounce back! We are not "too far gone", we do not deserve collapse or heavens forbid a revolution (aka a civil war, probably a hundred million dead or fled). Decline is a choice and we can simply choose not to decline. What if: we could live in a world where better things were possible? It just requires making the right policy choices.

Insofar as there is a debate re: the right policy choices, here then is my contribution.
