Is this self promotion?
This is just the low demand stuff from NZ National Library’s overseas collection, which are books published in other countries that they’ve previously stored. With everything being available digitally, it’s not worth the expense to keep physical copies of all these books. The National Library still has physical copies of every book published in NZ’s history, and pretty much every other media ever published as well (tv broadcasts, newspapers, records etc). The current right wing government has cut their funding in recent years so if it really worries you that’s who you should blame, but its really not as dramatic as your post makes it seem
