Considering how Sinophillic in style, fashion, design, philosophy and imitation the Brits were during the 18th-19th centuries pre-Opium War, and how Anglophillic (especially upper U culture – I know, I’m one of them!) a lot of Chinese are right now, if Britain’s demographic/productivity/fiscal Century of Humiliation is pushed on by Beijing, they wouldn’t be the most contemptible custodian/Steward/Occupier/Humiliator/Creditor.
I swear to fucking god though, if some Oxbridge/O-level/Whitehall dropout woke up one day and claims to be the sibling of Guanyin…
