Though not the first non-covid mRNA vaccine approved (that was a different Moderna one for RSV in 2024), it is the first one approved during Trump 2.0, showing that RFK Jr. will actually allow mRNA vaccines to be approved in this administration, though there are still some caveats on this approval. Regardless, this will hopefully lead to faster, cheaper, and better vaccines for a wide variety of diseases.
