      I’m trying to figure out what Warhammer 40k faction my toddler is. (He’s almost 2 years old.) I think maybe Ultramarines because he’s totally obsessed with maintaining order. If another child at the playground drops their toy, he will run to pick it up and shove it back into their hands. Not out of kindness, but rather because he cannot stand to see the toy not go with whom it belongs.

      One Battle After Another (which I finally got around to seeing just a few days ago) was a very, very rare thing for me (as someone who thinks all of PTA’s movies are great): it was a Paul Thomas Anderson movie that I thought was great *immediately*. Usually I find myself underwhelmed or not getting or even not liking a movie of his, then watching it a second time and loving it, then watching it a third time and realizing that it’s one of the greatest films ever made.

      My pet peeve today:

      Called the police to report people stealing bicycles, and when police ask me their ethnicity, they asked me whether the thieves are Australian, Middle Eastern or something…

      I really don’t think using Australian to call white people is appropriate…
