I don’t know what the key innovation was that allowed Amazon to start viably selling low-margin liquid goods but it’s been one of the greatest things that ever happened to my household. I’ve got subscriptions going on all kinds of shit that nobody 5 years ago would even have considered the notion of being able to buy online, seltzer water, motor oil, laundry detergent, everything.

  2. Buttermilk is just a fucking scam man, buttermilk biscuits buttermilk pancakes its all just fuckin skim milk. Big butter is trying to treat their waste milk as something special and stuff you can get an entire bag of the powdered stuff for 3 bucks

  5. Early morning DT confession: I wish I was slightly hairier because I think men with more body hair are more attractive (not to excess though, there’s a balance). This is in conflict with my gf who hates all body hair, but you gotta prioritize looking attractive for yourself, not for any partner

  6. The sad thing about all this Hank Green drama is that John has been consistently, publicly, advising him to slow down and be careful.

It’s been a running joke for like a year on their podcast, where John tries to explain how dangerous celebrity is, and Hank is just like: β€œbut I wanna do it.”

  7. Ah didn’t see the time. From the last dt. Learning about the history of the post Nixon gop and its so fucking funny how many hardcore minarchists architected everything behind the tax cut strategy by misunderstanding economics so bad it looped back around to working for them.

“Tax cuts raise revenue which will force the democrats to cut spending or raise taxes because people will stop using goverment handouts if the economy grows”

This is literal nonsense. It’s not even remotely how anything works. You don’t have to close SNAP because fewer people are using it, and more goverment revenue would make the budget more able to afford spending increases. It’s predicated on the assumption democrats support welfare because they genuinely believe it’s morally superior to live on public assistance than to work and they’ll be so owned by people getting jobs they’ll be sad when fewer people use welfare. Only reason it didn’t backfire is tax cuts *lowered* revenue which actually *did* force spending cuts and tax raises!

And anyway it was written by the guy who wrote Reagan’s tax policy!
