Here’s your answer: In 1938, Beaton put antisemitic words into an illustration for American Vogue. The magazine recalled the issue and dismissed him. Beaton apologised and denied being antisemitic, but the incident is well documented.
Incidentally, check out Coco Chanel’s sketch. Clearly a reptilian (and she was Catholic, incidentally)
