Jim Sullivan, the 60’s folk singer who liked aliens and then disappeared in the desert

I’m a big fan of folk music, which is how I stumbled across Jim Sullivan and his song “U.F.O.” I also enjoy reading about music as much as I like listening to it, so while I was listening to his album, which is also called U.F.O., I started reading about Jim and found out that he shockingly had a fascination with aliens and UFOs.

Where it gets interesting is that in 1975, he left Los Angeles and was driving to Nashville, but for some reason ended up taking a detour into a remote part of New Mexico. His car was eventually found abandoned in the desert with a lot of his belongings still inside, and no confirmed trace of him ever turned up.

I just wanted to share this because, for one, I find the whole story really interesting, and I also think he’s really good. Maybe he went out there looking for aliens, got lost and died, maybe he was murdered, or maybe he got swept up by interdimensional space aliens and put on Mars or something. Idk. It's just ironic because I don't know many singers that sing about aliens in the first place, and then he ends up disappearing.
