      I miss uhhhh so basicalky I have a friend who decided to evangelicalmax at the end of college and hasn’t stopped since, like literally all he’ll talk about ever is God and he distanced himself from me because I was increasingly not into that, like the last time we met up we sat in a Chipotle and talked about theology for four hours and I could keep up hecause I ‘m kind of a gigachad based Bible nerd except I hate God but he loves God so it was jind of a weird dynami even though I wasn’t really revealing my hand or anything, but anyway point is I’m glad he’s happy but he is FULLY into the fundamentalist sauce in a way he never was before even though he’s a lifelong Christian and it’s kinda like damn RIP one of my best friends got fully subsumed by Jesus and it is what ut is

      Here’s my after action report for going out sober in my new neighborhood.

      I went to the first bar on my list and they were too packed so I kept on walking to a bar one of my friends took me out to a month or two ago. A safe-ish harbor. I got in and the music was too loud and the place was too packed. I stayed because every place I’d passed was similarly crowded and I knew this place had Guinness 0.

      Everyone was in groups and I couldn’t find anyone to talk to, so I found a corner and online shopped for apartment stuff.

      After 30ish minutes, the crowd thinned out and I took a place at the bar and started looking at paintings to hang between two small rugs from my travels. A woman sat next to me and I asked her opinion on potential prints given my interior decorating as it stands now.

      I thought it was a good conversation, but her friend showed up after 20ish minutes and they immediately went outside without asking me to follow. I’m probably overthinking it, but I thought the conversation was good enough to merit some sort of invite to continue; either now or later.

      My anxiety is telling me that I fucked up somehow, but it’s probably fine. My next actions need to be finding a high-end bar that is more low key and mainly bar seating, so it is more acceptable to sit next to strangers, or somehow establishing a new friend group who is down to go to bars.

      TIL that the yellow light doesn’t mean the exact same thing in every state.

      37 states take a “permissive” approach, where you’re allowed to enter an intersection during a yellow light and be in the intersection during a red light (as long as you entered before/during the yellow light).

      But 13 states take a “restrictive” approach, where you’re *not* allowed to enter an intersection during a yellow light, unless: 1) you can get through the intersection before the light turns red; or 2) it would be impossible or unsafe to stop at the yellow light.

      I wonder how many accidents a year are caused by permissive state drivers visiting restrictive states, and vice versa.

      I’ve been trying to calm it down and be more down to earth and humble and zen and it has not been good
