    Fires and El Niño


    I won't be sharing interesting conspiracy theories for the next few days; my country is suffering from massive fires, and I along with others have lost my home. Many people believe the government is responsible for this disaster, and that seems plausible given the opposition from residents to projects involving deforestation for palm oil plantations; it is possible this is a scheme of theirs. Our government doesn't care; they are too proud to accept aid from other nations or neighbors, yet they offer us no help themselves. Despite losing my home, I am grateful to still be alive.

    Information;

    Kalimantan's forests Hotspot developments in Central Papua: The total number reached 733 hotspots as of August 23, 2026. Confidence levels: 106 low, 577 medium, and 50 high (active fires).
    As of mid August 2026, approximately 33,837 hectares of forest and land have burned, triggering thick haze that threatens residents' health and has even begun to affect neighboring countries.

    A massive tectonic earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 struck Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 05:58 WIB.

      I am sorry to hear about your troubles and I hope you recover your losses soon. In my view the fault is with the government for the most part. They have surveillance instead of monitoring threats and hazards against the people they use them to track and control people.

      Also countermeasures against such events are not impossible but the government needs to organize it. Instead they waste money and resources on scamdemics and how to eliminate dissent.

      It’s interesting this proliferation of the word ‘hotspot’ in the press.
