During Trump’s first term in office, Kim’s regime was incapable of differentiating between the two. Kim believed that his rapport with Trump would have enough magical power to shift hostile bilateral relations.
Having been burned by misplaced trust in the past, the DPRK is now determined to draw a clear distinction between the two Americas. It is also making clear to Trump that he must prioritize the removal of hostile US policies toward the DPRK if he wants another meeting with Kim.
The hostile policies the DPRK refers to encompass the US’ joint military exercises with South Korea (and Japan), the deployment of strategic assets to the peninsula, sanctions, refusal to sign a peace treaty or to establish diplomatic relations, and the insistence on the DPRK’s denuclearization.

1. Summary
Kim Jong-un now sees there is a significant segment of Americans that wants to be in “good relations” with him and intends to utilize this “friendly” America (Trump and MAGA) to remove the belligerent intent of “hostile” America (Neocon, Dems, MIC, etc) from U.S.-DPRK relation. The author views this a change to establish “peace regime” in Korean Peninsula.

(1) U.S.-DPRK alliance: Kim Jong Un now knows there are two Americas and try to leverage “Peace” America to secure his position, according to the author. The author claims this will give Korea unprecedented change for “self-reliant peace” independent from the U.S.
3. My opinion
Another delusional hopium of sunshine-era old guards. Trump-related delusion among some far-left NL circles of Korea is borderline anti-Christ worship. They believe Trump is the only American “Peace” leader brave enough to stand up the globalist neocon conservative cartel. I saw some of them defending the shooting of protestors in Minnesota because it is a struggle against “MIC and neocons”.
