  1. > Russian President Vladimir Putin pledged to support Iran and stand against US sanctions on Tuesday during a summit aimed at rivaling America’s global influence.

    > Putin confirmed that Russia was working to help Tehran with its war against the US as he praised his Iranian counterpart, President Masoud Pezeshkian, at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Kyrgyzstan, The Washington Post reported.

    > “During this difficult period, we are striving to provide you with the necessary assistance — as we have discussed — and are supplying you with essential goods,” Putin told Pezeshkian, according to the Kremlin.

Iran has made several assassination attempts against US leaders including President Trump, has long supplied various proxies which have been attacking American shipping throughout the gulf area and was the primary backer of Hamas at the time of its massive terrorist attack in Israel which was the start of the current round of instability in the Gulf region. Through all of these acts, Russia was a key supplier of Weapons and military technology to Iran.

We shouldn’t make the mistake of thinking this was provoked. In recent times America has been trying to befriend Russia, cutting aid to countries Russia is attacking or wants to attack, proposing commercial deals and working to address Russia’s worries and fears.
