Submission Statement:South Korea National Intelligence Service (not to be confused with North Korea National Intelligence Bureau) believes that despite lack of open signals, the US-NK negotiations are in progress.

How’s it’s relevant to the sub: The North Korean Question and the Asia-Pacific Region

My Opinion: I do believe negotiations are possible, anti-American rhetoric has not been really prominent in North Korea, and the traditional anti-American events like 6.25 and 7.27 are directed against South Korea instead. Statements of the MOFA DPRK criticizing aggressive policies might be used as bargaining advantage in negotiations, or as signals on certain issues, but I do not see any signaling that negotiations as such are rejected. Kim Jong Un himself set out conditions for US-DPRK negotiations at this year’s policy address to the Supreme People’s Assembly.

  2. What is usa supposed to be getting from these negotiations? Like seriously what is even the supposed reason [since real one is trump weird relationship to kim]
