‘Anak Krakatau’ the name of this volcano, means ‘Child of Krakatoa’.

‘Anak’ means child in the local language, I presume, but in a Biblical sense, the Anak (or Anakim) are one of the groups of people known as the ‘Mighty Men’ (perceived as ‘giants’).
