Fuck off. Americans are more than happy to elect politicians who wanna dismantle democracy at every level of government. I hate these fuckers pretending that Americans (the people, not just the government) the shining beacon of liberty in a world full of inferior people who don’t understand what freedom means. The author specifically compares Americans to Chinese people and suggests that the reason they’re not as down on AI is because they don’t understand freedom. Tell you what buddy, if Republicans were born in an autocratic country, they’d be the most hardcore supporters of the government. They’d be the ones reporting others for though crimes.

I don’t disagree with parts of this, but it needs to wrap around to a point somewhere and I’m just not seeing it.
I remain skeptical of LLMs ability to achieve the mass replacement of workers its proponents argue for. However, I also see concerns about the rise of AI as a replacement for human interaction – imagine our current social media brain rot issue magnified by a thousand.
However that then has to come back to what do you do about it?
