Roh Tae-woo, a former president convicted of 25 years in jail for his involvement in Gwangju Massacre ( the crime of “murder to serve insurrectionist cause” under Korean law), had deep ties to SK and sent his daughter to marry Chairmen Chey.

    This helped SK to expand rapidly and the court acknowledged that fact. This allowed Chey’s wife to claim large amount of Chey family fortune.
