Acting US Navy Secretary and nominee Hung Cao in an exclusive interview with the Epoch Times (which I shall not link directly, but attached is a summary of it) admitted Iran "blew the hell" out of the US Navy Base in Bahrain and the United States has created a task force considering abandoning the base permanently.
Bahrain currently serves as the home port and operational headquarters for the 5th fleet. This would be a major withdrawal of US force from the region if the taskforce recommends not rebuilding the base.

This is probably the single most humiliating conflict the US has ever been involved in.

Obligatory fuck Hung “America saved my family from communism, I’m here to make sure she never does the same for anyone else” Cao
I know I saw missiles hit parts of the base I recognized from the time I was there, but I had no idea it was *that* bad.
The US should withdraw from the ME and focus on the Pacific, the North Atlantic, and the Americas. When an empire is experiencing relative decline compared to peer rivals trying to hold onto everything just makes the situation worse.
Yes there will be costs to leaving the ME, but there are also costs for staying.
Don’t worry, Iran is begging for a deal. In two weeks, we’ll break ground on a big beautiful base like no has ever seen.
Trump fulfilling his promise of no more forever wars in the Middle East by ceding it all to Iran 🏳️
So much winning.

I never thought we’d be winning the war so much that we would need to abandon NSA Bahrain
This guy is a fucking embarassment
Not having a major logistics hub in the Middle East would be a strategic loss.
One of the main reasons that the United States is able to project power across the world, which includes ensuring free navigation of the seas, is overseas bases and alliances.
When we lose those, we lose enormous power. Enormous.
The people who’ve wanted America to close their foreign military bases are winning with this administration.
