With where the defecit currently is I expect a massive retrenchment of US forces in the coming decade especially given the growing isolationist bent in the US. Our current allies will need to sadly figure out how to go it alone.

I literally cannot fathom a world where this happens and my only solace is in the fact that think tanks are almost always ignored and not important.
Edit: just checked and this guys are low key isolationist and a little doomery so not saying this isn’t concerning but they don’t seem to represent much of a significant force in US politics at least considering we don’t really do anything they want us to.
