What the governor should have said

“Today, 25 years after al-Qaeda’s Islamist terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, flags across Virginia are flying at half-staff.

We remember the nearly 3,000 people murdered that day by 19 hijackers acting in the name of a violent jihadist ideology. We honor the first responders who ran toward the danger, the Americans who then answered the call to serve, those who have since died from related health effects, those who still live with those effects, and the families who for decades have missed the people who never came home.”
