Submission statement: you can’t do policy if you can’t do policy implementation. Thus it is the bedrock that all policy rests on. Sadly, in the US, it is shit. However, due to the presence of new tools for automating a lot of paperwork, it might be easier to mobilize support to get the government to be less shit at implementing policy.

It’s really too bad the government is so terrible at managing IT infrastructure compared to private orgs. Better IT could make the government vastly more productive and pleasant.
For reasons I’m sure I don’t understand, government seems to repeatedly either overpay for vendor support, or completely botch deployment, and in any case maintain legacy for way too long.
