Why it’s related to liberalism?
Immigration policy is strongly related to the freedom of movement of the people, that is an essential part of liberalism. Also, the rise of PHON and far right in Australia is also a threat to Australian democracy.
My view on this:
At this point, we can know that the only PHON policy that they made clear and consistent is they going to cut immigration till a negative population growth is achieved, which, aside from moral aspects, will definitely ruin the economy beyond repair as it will include also key healthcare profession immigrants.
But unfortunately, currently, Australians are very favor to such policy, due to the deepening housing crisis.
