Is it really standard corporate law? I thought that why it kinda iffy in the first place.

I do agree that something had to be done. It is clear that shady things were going on at Nexperia. That cant be disputed. But, whether or not it was a success, I still think is disputable. Sure, the European part has been saved (so far), but the case could have been handled much better. I genuinely believe that if Karremans had been proactive, I.e., informed allies **and** China of his intentions, this wouldn’t have blown up the way it did. We probably wouldn’t have had such an enourmous disruption, and the Netherlands wouldn’t have had to spend so much political capital fixing the mistake.
If there is anything good we should take from this, its that it at the very least opened a lot of eyes to Europe’s vulnerabilities (on these chips) and something is being done about it now.
