sorry did that boomer really bring down the spanish government

SS: Spain is one of the major EU economies. The popularity of Spain’s current government has slid under a number of scandals, including the events in Ceuta earlier this year and persistent corruption allegations surrounding senior figures in the Socialist Party. Current polls show the centre-right PP leading, and the whole right-wing (including the far-right Vox party) taking more than 50% of the vote.

Botched eviction of an 87 year old woman brings down Spanish government, emergency national election called. Is that r /BrandNewSentence worthy?
Well, another center-left government falls to be replaced by far-right ?

All of this because a old woman stopped having her super subsidized rent

The role from the media with regards to economics is a serious problem in our democracy.
The abismal reporting on the situation of 87y lady even here in the Netherlands makes me want to puke.
Not only voters and politicians are to blame for the housingcrisis, the media plays a significant part as well.

Imposible vote. Election called on the back of lefts economically illiterate housing policy and now far right Vox to be in government.

PP polls at 34%, VOX at 18%. Socialists at 26%.
Hail mary by Sanchez to make the election about rent control? Not sure how well that works in a country with 70+% home ownership rates.
Expected outcome seems like a right wing coalition to me.

Spanish left: after Vox us!

One of the most failed administrations in Europe the past few years.
Did absolutely nothing besides (fail to, for the most part) pass bad economic policies, pardon nationalists who pulled an illegal referendum using stolen funds and utterly fail on border security.
No wonder the PP and Vox will win these elections. Let’s hope Vox moderates as it touches power.
