The way Trump stops and calls all attention to the protester, by watching him as the crowd gets riled up, the very dramatic hair grab by the maga guy and the protester’s safe, low drama exit in spite of all of this.
My theory is he’s trying to get his followers rabid and ready to fight at the midterms. The maga guy is an example of how Trump wants his cult followers to act. He’s creating an army of degenerates he knows are freakishly loyal, and we’ll likely see more serious acts of violence as his rallies progress.
