I’m on the generational border, many people wouldn’t believe a large percentage of the internet was fake a few years ago.
I forget the documentary name but music executives openly talked about buying the first 100,000 views on YouTube for new artists. That’s why the trending page used to always have some garbage rap music at the top the same day as release.
I’ve personally wondered how many TV ratings or book sales were fraudulent/boosted. You start to wonder just how far back this kind of mass manipulation goes. The next question is how did a media cartel get this kind of dirty cash flow in the first place. Eyes wide shut stuff hidden in plain sight?
if any of you have tried to make your own video content and post it online, it doesn’t take long to realize you are posting into the void. Even if you spend a year on the grind, you will get stuck at 500-1000 subscribers. It’s not just the corporatized algorithm as tv converts from cable to streaming. This is the inflation problem, you can never go trending if you need 10,000 bots to get over the hump. This is part of why the Chinese tiktok algorithm was working, it wasn’t this entirely fake version of reality being pushed by corporate America. Now that the American corporate goblins have swallowed it up, you will get garbage in garbage out.

it’s also very likely the same people paying billions of dollars to spread propaganda are also paying many more billions in secret to boost people unknowingly via bot farms. The best actors are people who don’t know they are having their strings pulled.

anyone else come to this realization lately? And if you woke up earlier than 2025, what made you distrust all media? I used to bot world of Warcraft as a kid, never thought of it as a bad thing or made the connection to media, I also got banned eventually so it begs the question how the corporations seem to be the ones making the bot problem worse.

Learning how the sausage is made, woke me up.
Being here from the beginning, being distrustful of anything I’ve ever been told because the Bible betrayed me.
Realizing I was being told lies, going to Catholic school, and a Baptist Church, I got two sides of the same coin and realized it was all ridiculous.
No one agrees with me, but I was told to read the Bible literally.
The discovery of North America and other people that the Bible can’t account for, clicked early for me.
I was like, this can’t be true, and the fact that I exist proves it is a false story.
So what else was being faked? I soon realized everything was manipulation and propaganda.
Reading about Plato’s cave, it eventually clicked exactly what this means.
You can’t leave influencing to the bad guys though.
That’s why they are siloing us, because they want to be the only manipulator class and make sure everyone agrees.
