A redditor came to me with this write up, said he/she was afraid of posting it, so imma posting cause fuck it, I though OP was larping at first, but the whole thing stinks, some other people found other stuff that might backup OPs post aswell, this is not a doxx since everything is public info (there are some crazy posts on her ig aswell, a cartoon dog with a t-shirt saying "I eat kids" who tf writes that??)

here it is:

@dstrachman on Instagram is Danielle Strachman

Her Bio states: In search of grace and duende

"Duende" isn't decoration – it's Lorca's term for the dark, irrational creative force. It fits the firm's own self-description exactly.

Who she actually is

Founding member of the Thiel Fellowship – hired by Peter Thiel in 2010 to lead design and ops. She helped select the early cohorts that produced Vitalik Buterin (Ethereum) and Dylan Field (Figma). The first 2011 fellows class is documented here. Before that she founded Innovations Academy, a K-8 charter school. Scott Alexander called her a "dangerously-hippie-adjacent burnt-out former charter school principal".

In 2015 she co-founded the 1517 Fund with Michael Gibson. Their own numbers: $175M+ committed, 104+ portfolio companies, 4 flagship funds, corroborated by Private Equity List and Startup Intros. Her role is confirmed at Bloomberg and Crunchbase.

The part that actually matters: the age pipeline

The Thiel Fellowship catches 18-20. The fund catches pre-seed. But their teen camp 2E catches 14-18 — "twice exceptional," i.e. neurodivergent, gifted, self-taught (1517 post).

Their own slogan says they want to "incept the next generation into Sony Futurism".

Best self-image line: "Responsible adults don't tell teens about 1517".

Two more tracks: the micro-grant program Medici and Flux Capacitor, which funds researchers to work outside academia, plus "Garage Science".

The defense/deep-tech axis

Mach Industries – MIT-dropout founder, US Army contract and its own weapons factory, now ~$3.7B and Sequoia-backed – is one of her "first investor" stakes (her X bio). Also in the portfolio: Lambda, Loom, Figma, Luminar and nTop (Startup Intros), plus Atom Computing, Xona Space and Rainmaker (1517 site).

Privately-funded infrastructure: compute, navigation, defense, weather. Palantir/Anduril territory.

Ideology?

The name references Luther's 1517 theses – universities = indulgences. Self-described "anti-establishment educational institution." Michael Gibson's (co-founder) book: "Paper Belt on Fire".

A parallel education-and-capital system that routes around the university rather than reforming it.

Bonus: Gibson's father, Frederick Whittle Smith, was a suspected CIA agent who was found murdered when Gibson was sixteen months old – and Gibson is still investigating whether and why the CIA killed him. The publisher's own book page carries the quote about his father, and the full story is profiled here.
