Submission statement: this article by British publication runs down all the contributing factors which make Ossoff primed for 2028. The article’s dearth, characterizing his career, is worthwhile.

Jon Ossoff 😍😍😍😍

We’ve seen a number of politicians start to rise in a similar manner only to do/say dumb shit in their new spotlight and then crash and burn (Beto in particular comes to mind, being another energetic young white dude from a red state.) I think it is notable that Ossoff, however, seems like he’s thriving in the spotlight and appears to know at least something about how not to implode.
>Twice, in 2017 and 2020, Ossoff found himself at the center of America’s political attention. Both times, he capitalized on that attention – to the political benefit of Democrats, and the financial benefit of his future campaigns
I think this is not luck and he knows what he’s doing.

As a Jew, I have my doubts that a Jewish man can make it to the top in this climate

He’s charismatic, well spoken, good looking, and got elected in Georgia, a red leaning purple state.
He hypothetically can reach far, but two thing are in his way: leftists who will definitely look at his Jewish background, and the fact that he holds and extremely important senate seat.

As a Senate candidate he hasn’t had to articulate a comprehensive policy vision in the way that Democrats expect their presidential candidates to do. That will be the big test, bc as of right now he hasn’t really had to declare his position within the intra-democratic ideological battle.

I would give up 4 years of progress on much needed policy improvements (e.g. social safety net etc.) for only one thing: maximum and true punishment for all the criminals in this administration and elsewhere, including Trump. If Ossoff would send thousands upon thousands of these criminals to jail, disbarred, careers destroyed— **including Trump—** then I am with him.
But if there is even a hint of failure on this, or weakness— Ossoff would have betrayed us fundamentally. Because we gave him this chance at a high price.

All the way, baby

This goes for all centrist-y Democrats.
This is the only bargain I’m willing to make.
