SS: New Zealand’s largest public transport project in decades opened about a month ago. It’s an underground railway through the city centre which doubles the number of trains which can enter the city as well as allowing east-west journeys on a single train.
Despite being well over budget and years late (it took 5.5 billion NZD and 10 years), it is the crown jewel of our public transport network. The project was talked about for quite literally 100 years before it was built, it’s nice that it is finally open.
