For the last month or so, packages that usually take three to four days have taken a full week, if not longer. [At least for me] I’m wondering if anyone else is noticing the same thing?
They still give the same estimated time for delivery when I get my tracking numbers. But then they will stop in some regional distribution center for days on end… These are totally mundane items; no contraband. It’s happened to me three times recently.
It could be attributed to many things: weather, staffing problems, dumb luck. But I’m starting to think they’re slowing down the mail again ahead of the midterms. Staffing problems are the purview of the federal government, and I think Trump tried to do it before. Last time there was at least a semblance of checks and balances, still. At this point, they no longer exist. So if they wanted to make it happen, I don’t think anyone would stand in their way.

Usps has been getting slower. And less trustworthy. I had nearly 2k of stuff legitimately stolen by usps in about 3 years time. Every time it arrived at my door looking like a bear got into it, missing parts. Take it in for claims and the rest disappears behind the counter forever. Genuinely fuck usps I will pay any price to not have them ship my stuff
I’m waiting for Amazon to take over the US postal service at this point.
UPS got massive budget cuts where most have to use their actual cars to deliver mail instead of a standardized one. Also, if you import anything from another country, no matter what, it has to be looked through. You frankly cannot import anything from Japan without it being destroyed unless you order in bulk where only one or two items are impacted, or you take it home on a flight.
Ever since DeJoy came into power. Yes. Intentionally.
