The real reason housing costs the way it has is the asset inflation across the board relative to wage increases. I live in Seattle and we have massive high density construction everywhere and housing has not gotten cheaper. Asset inflation is unfortunately bipartisan and the progressives do not have an answer for this as many of their policies would actually continue the asset bubble. Just look at SF and Seattle where I live and where progressive politics dominate the local government.
