I would say it’s not at all. We are not heartless but would prefer free market options. Government intervention in health care has balooned the cost.
I have a real world insurance example. In Canada, two provinces next to each other. One covers windshields (public car insurance), one doesn’t (private car insurance).
It costs three times more to replace a windshield in the province with public car insurance.
