Rich Democratic donors are much more left wing on every issue than the average Democratic voter, and the impact of the Citizens United ruling has been to make the Democratic party move left over the past decade, away from the median voter.

Not sure I entirely buy it but it’s a really interesting theory
based people of means
“Citizens United made the Democrats more left-wing” is very interesting
If that’s the case wouldn’t more progressives candidates rise to the top then Hillary and Biden won out over Warren and Sanders who were far more progressive than Hillary and Biden this graph doesn’t line up with reality about how the party “has moved left” time and time again moderates won out over progressives Also, if poor people are not in favor of policies that help them then this country is literally shooting itself in the foot.
Soros being the main example of this. The same is true of Republican donors, at least on economic issues
Don’t tell anyone on arrpolitics this, they will screech at you
Like Scaramucci said in his podcast
Republican voters are culturally conservative but economically liberal
They aren’t against subsidies and benefits.
