33 hours of therapy per week seems excessive but apparently patients like Benji will require constant care for probably the rest of their life. With enough therapy it’s at least thinkable that he might attain some level of self-sufficiency where not everything has to be done for him. I’m not convinced limiting his therapy is a waste of resources and it should be paid by an insurer, especially because any costs insufficient therapy are externalized to someone else

UnitedHealth paid for 33 hours a week of specialized therapy for 6 years and they said the child wasn’t improving. So they said, let’s do 24 hours a week.
There are 260 kids on the waitlist for that same specialized therapy.
