According to [bundeshaushalt.de](http://bundeshaushalt.de), Germany’s social spending budget for 2025 is roughly 180 billion. The amount for “old people” (generally speaking) is roughly 135 billion, and for “poor people” (generally speaking) is roughly 45 billion.
My numbers are not quite correct, as some social spending is hidden in other parts of the budget, like 2 billion for Bafög (money given to students etc) and 15 billion for health care.
It will be interesting to see how they plan to cut this.
