He pitched the republicans passing a debt ceiling hike under Biden (so Trump wouldn’t have to be the one to sign it) as a favor to *them.* Like “no I insist, you take all the political heat yourselves, thank me later.”
Ofc it’s not like his voters understand what the debt ceiling is. It’s just something they’re told to be outraged about every so often so that republicans can threaten us with a global financial meltdown
