I have family members that will vote Republican for the sole reason of their favorite snack food has doubled in price. They live in a world where returning the GOP to power means the clock magically reverses to 2019 but also conveniently has 2020 gas prices and 1952 home prices, except for theirs of course, which is worth x4 what they paid for it.
Point being, imagine an American with the most average intelligence squarely at the top of the bell curve and realize that 50% of the voters are stupider than they are.
