I feel like the more left wing flank of the progressives would drift off to form a very small minor party.If that happens I would probably consistently vote for the progressives. But I can also see myself comfortably voting for the new dems too
Also the Freedom Caucus ain’t nearly as libertarian as you’ve placed them.

If it’s still FPTP winner-take-all, New Dems only, and CPC are the enemy.
If the system is changed to ranked choice and coalition government (or some other sane multiparty arrangement), then New Dems #1 and CPC #2, or vice versa, depending on their exact policy positions and who the candidates are.

Our two parties are just a coalition government of a multiparty system.
Our system doesn’t effectively work differently than much of the world (especially if you remove the filibuster)
