It’s a political role, so why don’t they pick someone who has worked in the department before, why a celebrity and financier?
Yes unfortunately intuitively once folks started focusing on his personal failings, I knew it was over and he would be confirmed. Somehow this only bolsters support on the right now. Focusing exclusively on professional incompetence and a bad vision that will make America weaker is the only thing that could maybe work. Not that that is exactly likely to work either, but the playbook of doubling down against personal failings as character assassination fake news has succeeded over and over.
Though I thought it would play out this way for Gaetz too and I was thankfully wrong there
