My “red line” is when we no longer have free elections. I hope that doesn’t happen, but if it does, I plan to move out the country. Unfortunately, the European countries I have recent ancestry (Britain and France) with don’t do citizenship by descent. I have German ancestry too, but that goes back too many generations. So I can’t exactly move out easily. My tentative plan would be to get another Master’s degree in Europe and use that to obtain a blue card and work on being a resident.

National bans for abortion/hrt/etc, actual imprisonment of political enemies (unless they can somehow provide strong evidence which haha to that), or sending troops into blue states. Or if the midterms seem to be stolen/fucked with.
Luckily I live in NC so we have a bit of Swing State Immunity with too much fuckery *and* state leaders are Democrats right now so a lot of leeway currently. But if you live in a red state honestly gtfo if you can.

Many of my red lines involve the 2026 and 2028 elections. If those are messed with, I’m done. The only problem is … how do I leave? It’s so hard to get a visa or permanently settle elsewhere.
