Multiple Democratic parties have tried the free food drives/free breakfasts with pretty much no success in persuasion. It’s like baby’s first persuasion idea.
It *does* work okay for petitions (where you can also identify supporters who are infrequent voters or persuade some leaners) if you pick a high traffic area (like a farmer’s market) and it works great to hand out food if you’re doing voter registration on a college campus around August/September.
Fewer people are leaving the house and that’s by choice. Slapping a political label on that means even fewer people will attend.
