The thing with Trump tariffs is that he is tariffing most major economies, which means that overall, China will likely take the hit from tariffs BETTER than America because they can make up the trade lost by trade with European nations that have also lost a part of the American market.
So while in theory tariffs could hurt China, Trump went about it in the most self-destructive and ineffective way possible.
