It’s a very disturbing trend but for materials science papers such as battery research, catalysis, green chemistry you can publish a paper 99% the same.
So for example I study CO2 upgrading and instead of saying “I’m doing this cause CO2 induced climate change” you shift the focus to adding value to a pretty useless molecule.
Again censorship is bad and the health science censorship is far worse.
